What is Polygon (MATIC)?
Polygon (MATIC) is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that enables faster and cheaper transactions.
It is an open-source framework that provides developers with the tools they need to build and deploy decentralized applications (dApps) on Ethereum. Polygon utilizes a variety of technologies, such as Plasma, Optimistic Rollups, zkRollups, and more, to provide scalability solutions for Ethereum. Polygon is powered by its native token MATIC which is used to pay transaction fees on the network.
MATIC also acts as a governance token, allowing holders to vote on changes to the network. Polygon also has its own blockchain which allows developers to create their own tokens and dApps without having to use Ethereum. This allows developers to create projects with their own rules and regulations without having to worry about Ethereum’s gas fees or scalability issues.
