Who created Ethereum Classic?
Ethereum Classic was created in July 2016 as a result of a hard fork of the Ethereum blockchain.
The hard fork was necessary due to the DAO hack, which resulted in the theft of millions of dollars worth of Ether. The original Ethereum project was founded by Vitalik Buterin, Gavin Wood, and Joseph Lubin in late 2013. However, Ethereum Classic was created by a group of developers who opposed the hard fork that occurred after the DAO hack.
This group included Charles Hoskinson, Anthony Di Iorio, and Amir Chetrit. The team behind Ethereum Classic has since grown to include many more developers and contributors from around the world. The project is now managed by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) called ETCDEV, which is responsible for developing and maintaining the Ethereum Classic protocol.
