What are the different types of nodes on Theta Network?
The Theta Network is a decentralized video streaming and delivery network that uses blockchain technology to incentivize users for sharing their unused bandwidth and computing resources.
It has two types of nodes: Guardian Nodes and Edge Nodes. Guardian Nodes are responsible for validating transactions on the Theta Network, as well as maintaining the network’s security. They are rewarded with Theta tokens for their efforts.
Guardian Nodes are required to stake a certain amount of Theta tokens in order to become a Guardian Node. Edge Nodes are responsible for relaying video streams from content providers to viewers. They are rewarded with Theta tokens for their efforts.
Edge Nodes do not need to stake any tokens in order to become an Edge Node, but they must have sufficient bandwidth and computing resources available in order to be able to relay video streams effectively. In addition, there are also Relay Nodes which help relay video streams from Edge Nodes to viewers, but they do not receive any rewards for their efforts.
