Is there a limit to how many THETA tokens can be issued or mined on the network?
The Theta Network is a decentralized video streaming platform that uses its own cryptocurrency, THETA tokens, to incentivize users to share their bandwidth and resources.
The total supply of THETA tokens is 1,000,000,000 (1 billion). Of this total supply, 800 million are pre-mined and 200 million are allocated for mining rewards. The pre-mined tokens are held in the Theta Reserve Pool and are used to reward users for providing resources to the network.
This includes staking rewards for validators who secure the network and content delivery rewards for users who share their bandwidth with other users. The 200 million tokens allocated for mining rewards are released over time as new blocks are added to the blockchain. This process is known as mining or staking and it is done by validators who secure the network.
These validators receive a portion of the newly minted tokens as a reward for their work. In summary, there is no limit to how many THETA tokens can be issued or mined on the network since new tokens are released over time as new blocks are added to the blockchain. However, there is a finite total supply of 1 billion THETA tokens that will never be exceeded.
